Just Another Thought...
To a full Congress, President Obama entered the Chamber to deliver his first State of The Union address. In the style and fashion of Presidents before him, he received handshakes from many men and kisses on the cheek from female attendees near the isle. It was clear he enjoyed and looked forward to giving this speech more than any before. To a standing ovation from the chamber, he took the podium. In the mist of applause President Obama said, “thank you”, nine times before beginning his address.
As expected “Bush Bashing”, which he does in every speech, flowed continuously. His tone was that of a lecturer rather than a State of The Nation Address. Included in his bashing, Wall Street was accused of being the culprit in the financial melt down. Again, he pointed fingers away from Washington D.C. and the Democrat party.
It was nice, though disingenuous to speak about the stubborn resilience of the American people in the face of adversity. Yes Mr. President, Americans are resilient and refuse the give up when in a fight, including a fight against our own soiled politicians.
It was not a surprise to hear from President Obama, yet again, the government has the answer to creating job growth. It is amazing neither he nor his party can understand simple logic. If you take money from the people and put it in government control, it is taken away from its source and the most honest distribution of revenue. This stops the ability of the people on Main Street to increase the production of their business. Such action also inhibits the hiring of more people, and can cause the employment rolls to decrease by way of layoffs and terminations due to increases of fees, fines, mandates and taxes.
Through these increases in expenses to the American business it is an assault on the people who own these businesses. The implication that the government can do a better job of distributing the profits of America is not a matter for the government to be concern. The taking of these captured funds from the American people and then to redirect a portion of these funds to the “Green Industry”, that is undeveloped and survives on government subsidies; it is a deliberate assault by socialism.
However, an attempt was made to appease. Stating the need for more energy to be addressed through off shore oil drilling and developing more production of nuclear energy was little more than a bone thrown to the American people. To say he would do these things is one thing however, what will be done. Bones were also thrown for education and tax relief, again how much of this will benefit real America?
In general, the 2010 State of The Union address was a rehash of old campaign speeches with few changes. To be exact, President Obama’s speech was a declaration to “Double Down” on efforts to push through Cap and Trade. It was a warning, Socialist Democrat Health Care is coming back and as many liberal agenda items as possible would be pushed through. Was he condescending? Yes he was. Was he insulting? He is absolutely out of touch with the people? His speech proved he has no intention of listening to anyone except his agenda.
The President made the statement, “The spirit of America lives on regardless of what the government does, it lives in each of us.” Mr. President, your agenda is not in the best interest of the American people. After your first State of The Union address, “We The People”, know you have one objective; not to improve America according to the Constitution.
