Icy Conditions and Common Sense

Just Another Thought...

Winter has arrived, with all its glory and challenge. Gone are the leaves dressed in fall colors dancing in chilling autumn air. For most, country winter arrived in a blast, with little warning. From the mountains and valley of the Great Northwest, snow fall began being measured in feet well before Christmas.

In the Northern states from North Dakota to Maine and southern borders of the country had no doubt winter had arrive. The sound of snow shovels scrapping sidewalks and walks ways quickly replaced the pulsated drone of leaf blowers. Retailers, in matching steps, rotated stocks of fall fertilizer for bags of rock salt.

As the grip of winter intensified, overriding the romance of fall, conversations in coffee shops, restaurants, and other gathering places steadily drifted toward the concerns of heating expenses and living through winter. Speculation grew as to what plant would close next; who would fall victim to government over regulation. And not to be ignored, more questions concerning the legitimacy of “man made global climate change”.

Doubt has spread concerning Al Gore in view of revelations in emails from England. Ordinary citizens began to ask, “Where is the money coming from to pay these addition taxes being proposed? Why do I have to pay for Health Care for the state of Nebraska, Louisiana, Unions and other selected groups?” Question, after question, after question, bounced among the people and no truthful answers.

In the mist of the questions, the day arrives for President Obama to deliver his first State of The Union address. He takes center stage commanding the attention of all Americans and the world and speaks. After 70 minutes he has said little, if anything to lift the spirits and determination of the American people. It was practically all I, me, and my. Did he answer key questions? No, he insulted; pointed fingers, accused and reiterated how important his health care bill is to [him].

Where do we the people turn for support and assurance?

As a suggestion from a share-croppers son, I suggest America stop looking to the people with letters past their names, and look first to God. Second, stop asking the government to help you; ask your neighbor if you can help them. In doing so we can began breaking down the divisions the government, academics and progressive socialist have created to keep us divided for easy destruction. Third, look in the mirror and ask what can I do to help myself.

In the end we have only ourselves to blame for our condition. We must reach out to one another; get on our knees to God, and not The Department of Graft and Geed of the Federal Government, if we are to survive and prosper. Survival of this nation is a conservative issue worthy of the consideration of all Americans.

Please ponder and discuss this on an icy, snowy beautiful day.
